SNS Domain Upgrade: Your .sol Becomes .sns, and a Free New .sol Is Coming

Solana Name Service is migrating every existing .sol domain to .sns, and holders caught in the August 17 snapshot get a matching new .sol domain for free on the Solana Record Service. The upgrade is automatic with no claim step, but .sol resolution pauses at slot 452,825,395 in mid to late October, so .sns becomes the name to use for payments.

Anchor v2 RC Is Here: 90% Smaller Programs, Fuzzing by Default

Anchor v2.0.0-rc.1 is a complete rewrite of Solana's most widely used program framework, rebuilt on Pinocchio with binaries over 90% smaller and compute costs three to six times lower than v1. The release candidate ships coverage-guided fuzzing through Crucible, plus a profiler, a step debugger, and LCOV coverage as first-class CLI subcommands.

Kalshi Market Data Is Live on DoubleZero Edge Over Multicast Fiber

Kalshi's live order book is now streaming on DoubleZero Edge, making it the first prediction market to distribute market data over a multicast network and the second venue on Edge after Solana. Four feeds went live at launch, covering full L2 depth and top of book across every sports event contract and crypto perps market Kalshi lists, and Kalshi is waiving its revenue share for the first year.

Solana Foundation Open-Sources Tokens, the Source of Truth for Canonical Assets on Solana

The Solana Foundation open-sourced Tokens, the codebase behind tokens.xyz, publishing the website, the Assets API, and the internal tooling that tiers each token mint under an MIT license. Tokens covers roughly 300 canonical assets and maps every mint that represents them, so a single Bitcoin page carries cbBTC, WBTC, xBTC, and zenBTC ranked on trading activity rather than pool size alone.
