Rarible Returns to Solana With Claynosaurz

Updated August 10, 2026: Rarible has added Mad Lads and Dead King Society Nobles to its Solana marketplace, bringing the total to three collections. The original August 6 story follows.

Rarible launched its Solana NFT marketplace on August 6, 2026, opening with Claynosaurz as the first and only collection. Rarible says it will add more Solana collections over the coming weeks.

Solana now sits beside Ethereum, Base, and MegaETH on the platform, with its own Explore, Mint, and Gacha pages.

The launch is more of a return. Rarible supported Solana NFTs back in 2022 through the Metaplex Auction House protocol, then dropped that support during a platform restructure.

The vote that sent Rarible back

The decision went through RARI DAO, the governance body for Rarible's RARI token. Holders lock RARI to receive veRARI, and that locked balance sets their voting weight. On July 31, 2026, the DAO approved the Solana expansion, and Rarible announced that development, integrations, and security audits were starting immediately.

The stated target was roughly four weeks, putting launch in late August. It shipped in six days.

Rarible's own announcement explains the gap. The company says it had "actually been working on Solana for months," running the build, the testing, and weeks of conversations with Solana NFT communities well before the vote made it official. The governance vote ratified a decision that was already largely executed.

Rarible is entering a two-horse market

Magic Eden and Tensor are the co-leaders in Solana NFT trading, and together they take the large majority of volume. Rarible arrives late, and without an acquisition, into a market where a new venue does not obviously change a collector's day.

Creator royalties are the most plausible differentiator Rarible has. Most marketplaces moved to optional royalties or dropped them, cutting creators out of secondary sales, and Rarible has held a harder line, honoring royalties onchain while letting users set their own limits. That position is well established on Rarible's other chains.

Rarible also has its own chain, RARI Chain, which makes the Solana move a bet on where collectors are instead of where its own infrastructure sits.

Gacha Station was the test run

Rarible calls its June 22 Gacha Station release the first glimpse of what was coming.

Gacha Station was Rarible's first consumer product built directly on Solana infrastructure. It runs on Collector Crypt's tokenized physical card platform, selling randomized packs across Pokémon, One Piece, Anime Pop Culture, and Sports categories starting at $25. Each pull returns a token tied to a professionally graded physical card sitting in Collector Crypt's vault. Holders can trade it, keep it, or redeem it to have the card shipped.

Shipping that first gave Rarible live Solana infrastructure, real transactions, and user behavior to measure before committing to a full marketplace.

What Rarible is promising next

Claynosaurz, the launch collection, is 10,000 animated 3D dinosaurs from November 2022 with a durable community. The two that followed on August 10 pull in different directions. Mad Lads is among the most recognizable collections on the network. Dead King Society is a small, curated membership community built around founder and investor access.

Those are three different reasons a collection exists, and Rarible says it wants to build around each project's identity instead of listing collections and moving on. It has committed to more collections, marketplace improvements, content, and community activations, without naming which collections or when.

A marketplace this size is a starting position, but pulling liquidity into it will be an uphill battle.
