Decrypt Is Becoming The Information Exchange on Solana, Built Around the MYR Token

Decrypt is turning itself into The Information Exchange, a Solana-based network that brings together news, data, market prices, probabilities, and ways to trade on them, coordinated by the MYR token. The company announced the change on September 30 and says products will roll out in stages over the coming weeks, leading into Solana Breakpoint, which opens in London on November 15.

Decrypt is the media destination, Myriad supplies the market infrastructure, and MYR is the token that ties them together. Decrypt says Myriad's prediction markets have already done more than $600 million in volume.

What is The Information Exchange?

The Information Exchange is Decrypt's plan to let a reader go from a story to a trade without leaving the page. It organizes everything around a subject, such as Bitcoin, instead of around an article or a token. Decrypt says a person following that subject should be able to see what happened, what the asset is doing, and what markets expect next, then act on it directly.

Myriad will assemble the reporting, data, prices, and probabilities, and attach ways to participate. Decrypt names prediction markets, spot markets, perpetual futures, structured event products, and "new financial instruments." Myriad will keep running its own market infrastructure and will also integrate products from third-party protocols and exchanges.

The Information Exchange will run on Solana. Decrypt says Solana will provide "the high performance on chain environment through which a new generation of users can participate." It also says Solana gives it "the speed, low costs and expanding financial ecosystem needed to embed participation directly into the information experience." Decrypt adds that financial products are increasingly composable and can be integrated into the applications where users discover them, so a reader should not need to leave an article to make a trade.

Decrypt also describes an in-house system called AMOS, short for Agentic Media Operating System. AMOS is designed to identify emerging subjects, organize data, curate intelligence, assist content production, and connect relevant financial products to what Decrypt calls "the infograph."

What does MYR do?

Decrypt calls MYR "the shared economic coordination layer" of The Information Exchange. It says participants responsible for secured network functions, including information verification and market resolution, can stake it. Applications, professional trading systems, data consumers, and autonomous agents can stake it to access scarce network resources. Decrypt says those may include higher API throughput, low-latency market data, probability feeds, resolution infrastructure, programmatic market creation, execution services, and premium intelligence.

Decrypt says holders and stakers will get reduced transaction costs, enhanced data access, and premium products or services. It says portions of the network's revenue will go toward open-market MYR purchases, supply reduction through buyback and burn, staking incentives, network rewards, treasury funding, and ecosystem development.

The Myriad Foundation introduced MYR on December 19, 2024, and Decrypt said the same day that it would adopt the token in 2025. In October 2025, Rug Radio retired its RUG token and Genesis NFTs and said holders' balances would convert into MYR community allocations.

Prediction markets were the test

Decrypt says Myriad's prediction markets were an experiment in whether an information audience could become a market network. The question was whether people reading about an event would trade on it in the same place, and more than $600 million in volume is Decrypt's answer.

The announcement also lists the missteps. Myriad was deployed across several ecosystems, tried automated market makers and order books, and built its own wallet and market infrastructure. Decrypt says not every strategy worked, and that at times it focused on becoming a conventional prediction market venue instead of on the link between information and participation.

Decrypt says it is combining three audiences. They are Decrypt's readers, Rug Radio's crypto-native creator community, and Myriad's active traders. With Rug Radio folded in, Decrypt reports about 1.6 million monthly unique users, 3.7 million monthly page views, and more than 73,000 active newsletter subscribers.

What Solana builders should watch

Solana protocol teams that run spot, perps, or event markets have the most to gain, because Decrypt says Myriad will integrate third-party products instead of building every market itself. An integration would put a protocol in front of the 1.6 million monthly unique users Decrypt reports.

App and agent developers should watch the staking terms. If MYR staking gates API throughput and low-latency feeds, the staking terms will set the cost of building on Decrypt's data. Everyone else can reasonably wait for the rollout.

With the Decrypt Information Exchange, Decrypt is betting that readers will trade where they read. It brings 1.6 million monthly users and $600 million in prediction market volume to that bet, and it opens a new distribution channel for Solana protocols heading into Breakpoint.
