Starting on October 2021, blockchain developers will come together to build the next generation of hybrid smart contracts and dApps as part of the Chainlink Labs’ biggest hackathon yet, the Chainlink Fall Hackathon 2021 with a total prize pool of over $400k.
Chainlink Labs’ mission with the Fall Hackathon is to help developers level up their skills by collaborating with industry-leading experts from across the blockchain ecosystem and exclusive access to technical workshops and premium educational content.
Non-technical attendees are also invited to form teams with developers, engineers and designers to get your idea off the ground. How you present your project is crucial to evaluation by the judges. Non-technical resources with design and business backgrounds can help with that.
The first two weeks of the event are focused on technical workshops so even if you are new to blockchain development you’ll be ready to go. The remainder of time is focused on group work and team-building activities, along with non-technical diversity and sustainability workshops answering the question of how blockchains can enable a more just and resilient world.
The hackathon is split into two tracks to make sure developers of all skill levels are included. A Main Track for experienced smart contract developers and a Welcome Track for those who are new to blockchain and smart contracts.
The Welcome Track is tailored to learning, and intended for newer blockchain developers who want to participate in their first smart contract hackathon in a less competitive environment to win cash prizes, Chainlink merchandise, and exclusive NFTs.
Welcome Track developers can access a wide range of introductory courses and resources led by world-class engineers from leading educational names in the space, including ChainShot and Dapp University.
The Main Track is for experienced blockchain developers looking to take their smart contract experience and projects to the next level. The Main Track will feature more advanced tasks and educational material.
Developers in this track compete for awesome prizes and cash bounties across a variety of categories and pitch their projects to a group of leading VCs at demo day.
Participants will have direct access to experienced mentors who can review your work, provide feedback, and share their experience building cutting edge smart contract applications.
Developers and creators can take part in educational workshops, extensive educational materials for learning about off-chain services, and live workshops demonstrating how to use Chainlink.
Judges and speakers are from some of the top protocols and blockchains, including Avalanche, Ethereum, Solana, and more.
The Chainlink Fall Hackathon 2021 gives developers the chance to compete for prizes from a total pool of $300k across an array of categories, such as NFTs, DeFi, DAOs, Chainlink Services and more.
Winners from the different categories will have the opportunity to take part in the VC Pitch Day held a month after the hackathon closes. This gives teams time to polish up their apps before presenting to VCs.
The opportunity to demo your project to the likes of Difi Alliance, Ethereal Ventures, Lightspeed, Tribe, Polychain and DCG can’t be underestimated.
Five months after winning the Chainlink Spring 2021 Hackathon, deBridge raised a total of $5.5 million in a funding round backed by Lemniscap, ParaFi, and others. DeFi Prize winner Vulcan, a blockchain-powered weather derivatives marketplace, now has Mark Cuban on board as a strategic advisor.
The Chainlink Fall Hackathon NFT projects will show how much the space has grown since just last spring.
New categories in the Fall Hackathon include the Chainlink Services Prize and the DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) Prize.
The Fall Hackathon will take place October 22 through November 28, 2021 and Registration is free.
